Rodrigo y Gabriela: Just The Two Of Us

Lead guitarist Rodrigo Sánchez and rhythm guitarist/percussionist Gabriela Quintero have a new album coming out this year. Due out April 29, 9 Dead Alive marks the duo’s first collection of new material in five years. Their most recent LP, 2012’s Area 52, was a collaboration with C.U.B.A., featuring re-recordings of tunes from the duo’s first two studio albums.

The guitarists recorded and produced 9 Dead Alive themselves at their studio in Ixtapa, Mexico.

“My idea was to record it as if we were playing a live gig in your living room,” Quintero said.  

With the promise of more dates to come, here’s Rodrigo y Gabriela’s U.S. itinerary so far for 2014:

Aug. 17 – Morrison, Colo., Red Rocks Amphitheatre

An announcement says the Red Rocks show will be part of a summer outing planned in late July and August.

Tickets for most dates went on sale today to members of the fan club. The Los Angeles and Hollywood fan club presales are scheduled Jan. 30. The general public will get their chance to buy tickets for all dates listed above Feb. 7.
