New Venue For New Town

New Town, N.D., is eyeing a new event center with the upcoming groundbreaking of a 4,000-seat venue.

outside the city has outgrown its current 2,300-seat venue and is looking to fill a capacity gap in the region, where the  boasts 10,100 seats but is more than two hours away.

General Manager Patrick Packineau told the Bismarck Tribune the size of the existing event center, which hosts concerts, private events and conferences, has limited the types of acts the casino could attract.

Specific plans for the venue are still in the works, and Packineau added that he didn’t know how large the building will be and how much it will cost.

“It’s going to look a lot different,” he said. “It’ll be something really exciting for people to come and see.”

Construction on the facility is reportedly expected to wrap in 2015.
