in Aurora, Colo.

Eight people were hospitalized after fans on the second-floor balcony of Nuevo Club Adixion began throwing bottles at patrons on the main floor, according to the Denver Post.

Aurora police Lt. Chad Cerinich told the paper that things got violent when fans on the first floor returned fire by throwing the bottles back.

“The crowd at the club became unruly,” he said. “It became a bottle-throwing melee.”

Security at the venue attempted to break up the fight.

A citywide call for help sent additional officers to the club.

Fights continued into the parking lot and one person was hit by a car, Cerinich added, noting the injuries were not life-threatening.

Two patrons were arrested during the incident.
