Sell-Outs For Mötley Crüe

Never to do anything in a small way, Mötley Crüe announced a two-year swan song road trip during a Jan. 28 Los Angeles press conference.  It was during the media event that members Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee signed a “cessation of touring” agreement, a heavily lawyered document prohibiting individual members from later resurrecting the band with other musicians.

“Everything must come to an end!!” Tommy Lee said.  “We always had a vision of going out with a big f**king bang and not playing county fairs and clubs with one or two original band members!  Our job here is done!!!”

Less than two weeks after the announcement, the band has sold out nine engagements as fans scooped up every available ticket for shows in Michigan, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Canadian provinces Ontario and Alberta. 

But it really isn’t a surprise that the shows are selling that well.  After all, the band has the legendary Alice Cooper appearing as special guest on all dates – a further enticement for fans to bid the Crüe adieu.

With the Clarkston show sold out, fans in the Detroit area will get a second helping of the Crüe three months later when the band plays the Motor City’s Joe Louis Arena Nov. 8.  Tickets for the newly added Detroit gig go on sale Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. EST.
