Lorde Cancels Dates
For U.S. Shows

In the wake of her double Grammy win, Lorde has shifted her focus on playing the U.S. market.

She pulled out of the Feb. 28 Gear Up festival in Adelaide – she was booked in May 2013 before her phenomenal rise – and plans to do a string of dates in April/May have also been abandoned. Her sold-out U.S. tour begins in Austin, Texas, March 3.

Earlier, Lorde had to pull out of the Auckland leg of Laneway to perform at the Grammys but returned for a makeup show two days later at Silo Park for 10,000 fans.

Meanwhile, CNN traveled to New Zealand for a feature on the singer to air Feb. 19 in 200 countries.

Among the stops was her old school, Belmont Intermediate, where the entire student assembly sang her hit, “Royals.”
