It said the much-hyped one would play the AMG-owned Shepherds Bush Empire that evening.

The box office would open at 7 p.m.

Following his two impromptu gigs last week at Camden’s Electric Ballroom, fans queued for hours to get a £10 ticket for the show at the 2,000-capacity Empire.

The Guardian said the two-and-a-half-hour set consisted of greatest hits like “I Would Die 4 U,” “Sign O’ The Times” and “When Doves Cry,” as well as new material created for his band, 3RDEYEGIRL.

There are no clues where the Purple one will next turn up, although he has mentioned he’d like to play a number of London venues including Ronnie Scott’s and Soho’s Bag O’Nails Club.
