Guns N’ Roses To Rock ‘Golden Gods’
Presented by Epiphone, the sixth annual Golden Gods is scheduled April 23 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
Not only is GNR performing at the event but Axl Rose will be honored with the “Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement” award. Rose joins a stellar lineup of acts that have received the award including Metallica, Rush, Ozzy Osbourne and Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister.
Joan Jett will become the first woman to receive The Golden God award for embodying “the spirit of hard rock and metal.” Past recipients include Rob Zombie, Gene Simmons and Alice Cooper.
“No one deserves this award more than Joan Jett. She’s never compromised who she is – she’s a rocker through and through. I wish some of the younger bands had the balls that Joan Jet does,” said Cooper who will present Jett with the award.
Nominees for fan-voted awards in 12 categories include Black Sabbath, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Queens Of The Stone Age and Five Finger Death Punch. Voting ends April 4. Click here to do your civic duty.
