New Sheriff In Town

The University of Hawaii’s  could soon be stepping into the concert business.

The arena, which was previously restricted from competing with the city’s , has been given the OK to pursue commercial events.

The University’s Board of Regents recently approved plans that could help generate revenue for the school’s athletic department, which is reportedly struggling.

Events on the horizon could include concerts, fundraisers, Broadway and comedy shows, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.

Arena football and NBA exhibitions have also been floated.
