Hang Loose With Alabama Shakes

Alabama Shakes announced today that the act is taking a break from working on the follow up to its 2012 debut, “Boys & Girls.” Lucky for you, during the band’s break from the studio the act is hitting the road for a short run of gigs beginning in April.

A release date hasn’t been announced yet for the rockers’ sophomore LP.

Brittany Howard & Co.’s spring outing features a few previously announced festival appearances. You can find the band at , , and .

Plus, the itinerary includes stops at what the act calls “two of our favorite, intimate venues” – the 9:30 Club in D.C. and The Orange Peel in Asheville.

“We are psyched to see some familiar faces and make some new friends,” Alabama Shakes posted on Facebook today. “It will be fun to get back on the bus and play some shows. See you out there!”

May 7 – Northfield, Ohio, Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park     
May 8 – Pittsburgh, Pa., Stage AE     
May 9 – Richmond, Va., The National
May 11 – Atlanta, Ga., Atlantic Station Park (Shaky Knees Music Festival)

Suburbia Music Festival in Plano, Texas, which takes place May 3-4, hasn’t revealed its daily lineup yet.

Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires support April 25-29. The Deslondes open May 7-9.

Festival passes are available now.

As for the headline gigs, presale tickets for select dates go on sale Friday, Feb. 28. The general onsale is Saturday, March 1.
