Redbird Repairs
Normal, Ill.’s 11,247-capacity Redbird Arena at Illinois State University is undergoing repairs after melting snow and rain leaked through a malfunctioning drain onto the arena’s basketball court.

Officials said the damaged part of the court would be replaced by panels from other sections.
“We are still surveying the damage, but in an effort to have the safest surface for student-athletes it is very likely that other portions of the floor will be used to replace those that have been deemed unplayable,” Illinois State Athletic Director Larry Lyons told WJBC-AM. “We’ll repair what we can and we’ll move what we can’t repair.”
No upcoming events are expected to be impacted by the repairs.
