Brody Dalle’s ‘Diploid Love’

Currently touring her Australian homeland with Nine Inch Nails and Queens Of The Stone Age, Brody Dalle announces a short run of West Coast dates beginning with a San Francisco gig in May.

Married to QOTSA’s Josh Homme, Dalle will release her debut solo album, Diploid Love, April 29.  The former Distillers’ frontwoman co-produced the album with Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan) at his studio as well as at her and Homme’sPink Duck studio.  Dalle reportedly spent a year writing the songs on the LP.  Although she played most of the instruments on the disc, she did have a few friends help out, such as Garbage’s Shirley Manson, The Strokes’ Nick Valensi, Michael Shuman of Queens Of the Stone Age, violinist Jessy Greene, Warpaint’s Emily Kokal, Tyler Parkford of Mini Mansions, Papa’s Darren Weiss and Awolnation veteran Hayden Scott.

“I’ve always had a hand in crafting how it’s going to sound and hearing it and trying to make that happen,” Dalle said.  “But it’s the first time I’ve put my name on something for production.”

Dalle’s West Coast shows follow her April tour of the United Kingdom.  Here are the dates:
