Two Dead At Fat Tuesday Concert

Fat Tuesday in New Orleans included a location that was the site of two separate shootings, with one involving two fatalities after a performance by Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan.

The fatal shooting incident occurred outside the Mardis Gras World near the Mississippi River before 11:15 March 4, according to WVUE-TV. A third person was injured in an unrelated shooting earlier in the evening.

New Orleans police were called to the parade float den to investigate the double shooting, according WVUE.

“Two men were involved in a gun battle, which resulted in both of them losing their lives,” New Orleans Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said. Both victims were shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene; one was found inside a silver Toyota.

Serpas said the investigation is very preliminary.
