CenturyLink Arena’s Beergate Fan complaints about beer prices at arena events isn’t new but a video posted March 9 by two Idaho Steelhead hockey fans regarding CenturyLink Arena has since gone viral.
The video, which had 21,145 hits as of press time March 10, caught the attention of CenturyLink Arena officials.
“It was recently brought to our attention that the amount of beer that fits in our large (20-oz) cups also fits our regular (16-oz) cups,” Eric Trapp, venue president, told KBOI-TV. “The differential in the size of the two cups is too small.
“To correct that problem, we’re purchasing new cups for the large beers that will hold 24 ounces, instead of 20, for the remainder of this season to provide better value to our fans. As we do every off-season, we’ll evaluate out entire concessions menu for the next season over the summer.”
