Tucson Convention Center Updates

The facility has begun a $7.8 million remodel that will include renovations to restrooms, concession stands, seats with cupholders and updated lighting and sound.

Seating capacity is expected to stay the same.

Officials say events will not be disrupted by the upgrades, which are scheduled to wrap by December.

Funds for the renovations are coming from the Rio Nuevo Multipurpose Facilities District.
