Hunter Hayes Goes For The Record

If everything goes right for Hunter Hayes, the country artist will see his name in Guinness World Records.  The multiple Grammy-nominee is aiming to set a new record for the most concerts played in multiple cities within 24 hours.

It’s not ego driving Hayes’ quest.  Instead, he has partnered with ConAgra Foods to help change the world.  “Hunter Hayes’ 24 Hour Road Race To End Child Hunger” begins in May when he launches his performance blitz in New York on ABC’s “Good Morning America” May 9.

The record Hayes wants to break is 10 hours in 10 cities within a 24 hour period that’s currently held by The Flaming Lips.

Here’s the plan:

May 9
8:00 a.m. – New York, N.Y., “Good Morning America”
9:15 a.m. – Boston, Mass., Paradise Rock Club
11:30 a.m. – Worcester, Mass., Upstairs At The Palladium (acoustic show)
1:45 p.m. – Providence, R.I., Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel
4:15 p.m. – New London, Conn., Garde Arts Center
6:45 p.m. – New Haven, Conn., Toad’s Place
9:00 p.m. – Stamford, Conn., Palace Theatre
11:30 p.m. – South Orange, N.J., South Orange Performing Arts Center

May 10
2:00 a.m. – Asbury Park, N.J., The Stone Pony (acoustic show)
5:00 a.m. – Philadelphia, Pa., Trocadero

The “24 Hour Road Race” is also presented in part by Martin Guitar, Proctor & Gamble, Mercedes-Benz USA and Ahold USA.  Hayes is a Martin Guitar ambassador and will play a Martin OM-42 at each show that will be auctioned at the end of each event.
