The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Waleed Ahmed pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in early March.
Ahmed must also pay more than $1 million in restitution in addition to the prison term.
The indictment said the phony promoter convinced the investor he was a successful businessman that had signed a contract giving him exclusive rights to Bieber’s 2013 Scandinavian concerts.
Those shows never took place.
Ahmed also promised to give the investor $9 million in return on the $1 million investment within three months.
