Mnet Awards In HK
Korean entertainment agency CJ E&M has announced that this year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards will be in Hong Kong Dec. 3.
Last year’s festival was also in Hong Kong and featured an appearance by Stevie Wonder.
Though the festival is mainly a means of promoting K-pop, CJ E&M is trying to expand its scope to cover all of Asia in the hopes that it can become a genuine international music festival.
The company says that fans from 95 countries attended last year’s event.
From 1999 until 2010, the festival took place in South Korea, but has since been staged in Macao, Singapore and Hong Kong.
