Pete Seeger Celebration Planned In St. Paul

Musicians will gather in St. Paul in May to honor Pete Seeger on what would have been the renowned folk singer and political activist’s 95th birthday.

The concert – called “For Pete’s Sake: Celebrating Pete Seeger’s 95th Birthday” – will be held May 3 at the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul.

Seeger died Jan. 27 at age 94. The singer-songwriter was known for such folk classics as “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” ‘‘Turn, Turn, Turn” and “If I Had a Hammer.”

Musicians scheduled to perform include Robert Robinson, Prudence Johnson, John Gorka, Ann Reed, Larry Long and Peter Ostroushko.
