MKTO Returns

After two promotional visits last year, Nine Live and Sony Music Entertainment are bringing MKTO back for its first national tour of Australia.

Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller’s self-titled debut album debuted at No. 1 on the official Australian ARIA charts, while debut single “Thank You” went quadruple platinum.

Opening act is Taylor Henderson, runner-up in last year’s “X Factor Australia.” Henderson’s debut single “Borrow My Heart” went double-platinum and his self-titled debut album went platinum. Both went to No. 1 locally.

Three acts booked for Sydney’s Vivid Live – Lauryn HillJames Vincent McMorrow and Anna Calvi – are making extra headline appearances around the country.

Hill, on her first national visit in 20 years, is at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre (May 21) and Fremantle Arts Centre in Perth (May 24).

McMorrow, who was here for festivals in late December, does three theatre stops May 21-27 for Secret Sounds.

Anna Calvi does an extra show in Melbourne, at Thornbury Theatre (May 30) through Laneway Presents.

Destroy All Lines has The Acacia Strain at 12 venues April 23 to May 4.

Live Nation has Sydney pop band 5 Seconds Of Summer doing five theatres May 2-8 on the There’s No Place Like Home run.

Live Nation’s newly formed Family Entertainment division has hit children act Hi-5 doing 11 appearances in seven venues June 30 to July 12.

Frontier Touring added extra shows in Sydney and Melbourne for Lorde’s April/May run.

Metropolis Touring and Select Touring teamed up to bring The Dandy Warhols for five theatre stops Aug. 22-31.
