Cashing In On Kate Bush

Tickets for Kate Bush’s 15 shows at London’s Eventim Apollo sold out in 15 minutes, although UK newspaper reports that the secondary market snapped up a fair number of them.
Looks legit!  A couple of VIP tickets for a Kate Bush performance were auctioned on eBay briefly before being yanked. Bush is performing for the first time in 35 years, and her 22 shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo sold out in 15 minutes.

Demand for tickets was so high that the singer’s own website, as well as some of the original ticket sellers, crashed as people tried to log on.

The demand resulted in the number of shows being upped from 15 to 22.

The London gigs mark the singer’s return to the stage 35 years after her one and only tour.

Tickets with a face value of £49 and upwards are now available on some secondary sites for as much as £1,500 each.

“I love Kate Bush but I am not paying out the nose to see her. I have my limits,” one fan tweeted.

Fifteen minutes after the onsale, eBay had three tickets including “a hospitality package” available for £1,200 each.

Seatwave had more than 100 tickets with prices ranging between £550 to £1,299.

Ticketmaster UK managing director Simon Presswell said: “After a 35-year wait several thousand lucky fans will be seeing Kate Bush perform live, but despite playing 22 dates demand has significantly exceeded the number of tickets available so regrettably a number of fans will be left disappointed.”

GetMeIn, Ticketmaster’s secondary site, has tickets ranging from £1,077.45 to £1,154.99.
