Bieber Booed At Juno Awards

Justin Bieber may still be a favorite for some Canadians, but he wasn’t so appreciated by many fans at the 43rd Juno Awards at , who booed after Bieber scored the Juno Fan Choice award March 30.

The Biebs wasn’t there to accept the honor but he did get some support later in the evening from Serena Ryder, who said during a speech that “Justin Bieber is an amazing musician and he deserved every bit of that award because he’s been working his ass off his entire life and we need to support how awesome he is.”

Ryder tied for awards with Arcade Fire, taking home two trophies for artist and songwriter of the year. The Montreal band accepted alternative album and album of the year in a recorded message from Santiago, Chile, where the group is performing at Lollapalooza.

But both acts were beat out by Tegan and Sara, who topped the trophy race with three wins for group, pop album and single of the year.

Performances included Ryder, Tegan and Sara, The SheepdogsSarah McLachlan, and OneRepublic wrapped the show by reuniting onstage after being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
