Bookies Say Prince For Glastonbury

Anyone who really thinks they know who will join Arcade Fire as headliners of this year’s Glastonbury Festival might try making some money out of Irish bookmaker Paddy Power.

The UK betting chain says Prince and Metallica are favourites at 5/4, although – as New Musical Express points out – festival founder Michael Eavis has previously said he doesn’t think metal bands are suitable and his daughter Emily has said Prince isn’t happening this year.

Rival bookie William Hill seems to have inside info – or even a hunch – that Kasabian will top the bill on Sunday night, and have suspended betting on the Leicester band.

Paddy Power is offering 5/1 against Kasabian headlining the Saturday. Paddy Power’s odds on the Saturday-night headliner are 5/4 for Prince and Metallica, 5/1 Kasabian, 9/1 Fleetwood Mac  and 10/1 Elbow

The acts who have confirmed Glastonbury appearances (June 25-29) include Dolly PartonLily AllenDisclosure and Courtney BarnettThe Black Keys, and Lana Del Rey.
