Introducing Hanson’s The Hop Jam

Hanson is following up last year’s launch of its Mmmhops pale ale with “The Hop Jam” beer and music festival in the band’s hometown of Tulsa, Okla. The event is set for May 18, which coincides with American Craft Beer Week.

The festivities will happen at Tulsa’s Brady Arts District.

“Through The Hop Jam, our hope is that we can help support the craft beer community and foster a one of a kind music event, while also creating an anchor for the city’s downtown renewal,” Taylor Hanson said.

So far the music portion of the lineup includes Hanson and Robert Randolph & The Family Band, with more special guests to be announced.

The opening band will be a special act from Oklahoma. In partnership with Tulsa World, the festival is hosting an opening band contest that is open to all Oklahoma musicians. Online voting for the contest begins May 4 and the winner will be announced May 11.

As for the beer roster, the event will feature 14 breweries from across the state. Attendees will get the chance to try special small batch beers from award-winning brewers and leaders in Oklahoma craft beer.

Fans (21 and over) who can’t make it to Tulsa in May will be happy to hear that Hanson has some more beer-related news. Hanson Brothers Beer’s Mmmhops will be available for sale online next month. Check back in May for online retail locations to be announced.

And here’s some more good news – don’t worry about tickets because there is no entrance fee to The Hop Jam! The concert is open to all ages and the brewers will be located in a 21+ area.
