Coke Pulls Festival Sponsorship
It was not possible to get word from Alter Art at press time, but reports from Poland say Coca-Cola is also backing out of its Burn Selector Festival. Burn is Coke’s energy drink, which it markets in 80 countries.
“Dear Festival Goers, 2014 is a year of change. It also applies to Live Music Festival: its last, record-breaking editions was the best so far,” Alter Art said. “And some good news to start with – the festival has a new partner and will return to Krakow in the summer of 2015.
“Along with the new partner, we decided that a one-year break is what the festival needs to return as an even better, more varied event, with an even more interesting musical lineup.”
In November it was announced that the Heineken deal for Alter Art’s other festival, Open’er, had come to an end after more than 10 years.
Festival chief Mikolaj Ziòlkowski told Pollstar he wasn’t looking for a new title sponsor.
“We are not looking for a new naming rights sponsor – Open’er Festival will be Open’er Festival,” he said.
This year’s Open’er (July 3-7) has Rihanna, Blur, Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
