Echo & The Bunnymen returns to the U.S. in August.  Touring in support of a new album that’s only weeks away from release, the Liverpool band will launch the adventure in Los Angeles in early August.

Meteorites is the name of the new Echo & The Bunnymen long player.  Scheduled to be released May 26 in the U.K. and June 3 in the U.S., the album contains ten new songs penned by founder Ian McCulloch. As far as singles go, look for “Holy Moses” in the States and “Lovers On The Run” in the U.K.  Meteorites is the band’s first album since 2009’s The Fountain.

And what does Mr. McCulloch have to say about the disc?

“For me, this is a whole new approach, it’s more edgy than anything I’ve ever done,” McCulloch said.  “I’m dealing with something on this record I didn’t want to deal with for a long time.”
