StubHub Settles Privacy Suit
StubHub has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit in which the company was accused of recording and monitoring cell phone calls of California customers without their consent.
The company has denied the claims.
According to the terms of a preliminary settlement, people who submit valid claim forms before a May 14 deadline will be classified as members of either class one or class two, based upon the dates they contacted StubHub’s customer-service lines.
Class one members will receive payments of at least $200 and up to $400, depending on the number of valid claims submitted, the company announced. Class two members will be eligible to receive between $20 and $40.
The San Francisco Superior Court is scheduled to rule on the final approval of the settlement June 4.
