Art Garfunkel Plans U.K. Fall Journey

Art Garfunkel will take his two-man show across the pond in September  where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member will play gigs in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Bristol and London.

This year’s tour represents a complete turnaround for Garfunkel, who has been experiencing vocal problems since at least 2010 when a case of vocal cord paresis forced the cancelation of a Simon & Garfunkel tour.  Garfunkel attempted a return to the concert stage in 2012 but was waylaid by a weakened vocal cord.

Now it appears Garfunkel’s vocal malady is an ailment of the past.  Earlier this month he told the New Haven Register that he has recovered from his bout with vocal cord paresis.

“I’ve worked very hard to get the voice back,” Garfunkel told the newspaper.  “I’m playing small gigs and teasing it along.”

Garfunkel also gave fans a glimpse of the relationship between a singer and his No. 1 instrument.

“I have been singing since I was five; it’s my best friend,” Garfunkel told the Register.  “I’m married to singing and its problems.”
