Led Zeppelin’s Page, Will Address Berklee Seniors

Former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page will be this year’s commencement speaker at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

The private college known for its music program announced Tuesday that the 70-year-old British musician will address seniors May 10 at the Agganis Arena. A student concert of commencement honorees’ music will be May 9.

Page was the guitarist for the English band that fused blues, R&B and rock ‘n’ roll for a new hard rock sound in the 1970s. It disbanded in 1980.

Page co-wrote one of its most famous songs, “Stairway to Heaven.” He was nominated for the 2014 class of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
