Festival Set To Honor Late Folk Singer Pete Seeger
Seeger grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson says Wednesday the free “Seeger Fest” from July 17 to 21 will celebrate the lives of the famous singer and his late wife, Toshi Seeger.
It will include a memorial service at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie and multiple concerts, including one in Manhattan’s Central Park. Musical artists involved include the Chapin Sisters, Steve Earle and DJ Kool Herc.
There will also be events throughout the Hudson Valley to honor the couple’s commitment to the community.
Seeger Fest will open with the screening of a documentary about the singer, who died in January at age 94.
