Splendour Sales Reportedly Hacked

Australian ticketing agency Moshtix is investigating a technical glitch that occurred during May 2 Splendour In The Grass festival onsale.

Customers complained of being offered a half-price option and then slugged with credit card surcharges of up to A$4,000 ($3,714.20).

Moshtix owner Harley Evans released a statement that the technical issue (reportedly caused by a hacker) was an “isolated” one affected only some customers.

All 50 percent transactions were canceled and customers contacted to purchase at correct prices.

“No credit card information has been compromised during the technical issues experience,” he emphasized. The festival sold out on the first day, as in previous years.

Splendour runs July 25-27 in Byron Bay with OutkastLily AllenCourtney BarnettInterpolVance JoyHoodoo Gurus and Kelis topping the bill.
