Eminem Eyes Wembley

Eminem will play Wembley Stadium this summer.  The Real Slim Shady announced the show on Instagram and apparently took a poke at the concert series going on at Hyde Park that week.

After posting an image on Instagram Monday that simply said “Never Mind Hyde Park,”  on Tuesday Eminem updated his account with “Never Mind Hyde Park It’s Eminem @ Wembley Stadium July 11 2014.”

 Em also expanded on the message with the caption “Never mind the bollocks … see you soon London.”

What’s all this about Hyde Park?  It appears Eminem is referencing the Barclaycard British Summer Time series that includes Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Backstreet Boys, The Libertines, Midlake, McBusted, Backstreet Boys and The Pogues on various dates at Hyde Park.  Running July 4-12, the series currently doesn’t have anything scheduled for July 11, hence Eminem’s “Never mind Hyde Park” comment.

But Instagram wasn’t the first venue utilized for Eminem’s announcement. For that he turned to the BBC’s Zane Lowe.
