Arrest in McCreery Robbery

Authorities have arrested a suspect in the home invasion robbery of Scotty McCreery and his friends.

McCreery was visiting his friends’ apartment near the campus of North Carolina State University, where he is a student, in Raleigh May 5 when three suspects armed with guns robbed them of wallets, cash and electronic items, according to police.

Mikkail Jamal Shaw has been charged with armed robbery and conspiracy after he turned himself in the following evening, a police spokesman said.

Police were also looking for other suspects. McCreery is wrapping up his sophomore year of college.
