Industry Noize: Hawkins Named Star MD

Greg Hawkins is the new managing director of Echo Entertainment Group’s flagship Sydney casino Star.

Hawkins spent five years working at Melco Crown’s two casinos in Macau, and was later chief executive at Crown’s Melbourne casino until last August when his position was made redundant.

He begins in September subject to regulatory approvals. Hawkins’ appointment emphasizes Star’s plans to concentrate on building up its Australian clientele than the international VIP trade, Hawkins told the Australian Financial Review.
