Surprise Return For Arvika?
The Swedish festival info site doesn’t say who’s trying to re-start an event that three years ago went bankrupt owing “millions of kronor” and had 3,000 fans among its creditors. Meanwhile, previous organisers appear puzzled by the news.
Fredrick Berntsson, who co-founded the original festival in 1992, says “a lot of journalists” have called him but he can’t shed any light on what’s happening. “The new promoters contacted us and told me that they now are in the planning stage and that more details will come with time,” he explained, saying that he’d been told to look at the festivalrykten site for further info.
“I then proceeded to call everyone who has been involved in arranging the festival over the years, including those from recent years,” he said. “No one knows the reputation of those that are behind it or where they come from.”
Local reports suggest the festival will start as a very small event in 2015 and feature Swedish acts.
