Industry Noize: Introducing United Supermarkets Arena

The 15,050-capacity United Spirit Arena at Texas Tech in Lubbock will be renamed United Supermarkets Arena under a 10-year, $9.45 million naming rights extension from the United Supermarkets grocery chain. 

The funds will be used to launch renovations involving university athletic facilities, according to KCBD-TV.

The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents is scheduled to vote on the name change during a May 15-16 meeting.
