A Chatham County Superior Court judge scheduled a hearing Monday afternoon to hear motions in the case. Allman filed suit last month to stop Unclaimed Freight Productions from resuming work on the film “Midnight Rider” after a freight train plowed into the movie’s crew Feb. 20. A camera assistant was killed and six workers were injured. Producers suspended work on the movie indefinitely.
In court documents, Allman’s lawyers say producers plan to resume shooting soon. Allman says the production company lost its rights to his life story by failing to begin principal photography by a contractual deadline of Feb. 28.
