Jennifer Lopez’s Free Homecoming

Jennifer Lopez returns to her Bronx, N.Y., stomping grounds next month when the singer/actress/“American Idol” judge plays her first hometown concert.  While the show is free, you’ll still need a ticket.  More after the jump.

Yes, “Jenny from the Block” is having a homecoming.  Presented by State Farm Insurance as part of its “Neighborhood Sessions” series, the former Fly Girl will perform at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park June 4.

If you’ve never heard of the Neighborhood Sessions that’s because the gig will be the first event in a series designed to represent communities and bring people together.   Lopez’s concert will highlight her own Lopez Family Foundation along with the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, Teach For America, LISC and other Bronx-based organizations.

“I’m humbled and honored to be doing my first ever concert in the Bronx,” Lopez said.  “I can’t wait to go back home and give a show to the people and community that inspired me.  Of all the summer days I spent in Orchard Beach, this is going to be one to remember!”

As mentioned, tickets are free.  However, there’s only so much space at Orchard Beach.  A 24-hour presale launched today and general admission tickets will be released May 15.  Click here for more information.
