Helmet Takes ‘Betty’ Across Europe

Helmet rocks Europe beginning in September on a trek that will feature start-to-finish performances of the band’s third studio album.  Launching in Prague, stops include Stockholm, Berlin, Paris, Vienna and other beautiful cities you’d love to visit.

Formed in 1989, Helmet has often been described as the “thinking man’s heavy metal band.”  Forgoing that decade’s long hair and spandex trappings of the genre Helmet opted instead for t-shirts, jeans and short hair as the group immersed itself in unusual time signatures, mountainous feedback and tricky syncopation.

Betty became Helmet’s highest-charting long player.  Tracks on the 1994 long player included “Milkquetoast,” “Wilma’s Rainbow” and “Biscuits For Smut.”

Now Helmet plans on taking Betty out for a spin through clubs across Europe.  Here are the dates:
