Industry Noize: HoB Booking Aztec Theatre

House of Blues has been tapped to book concerts at the historic Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, Texas.

The 1,500-seat room was originally a movie house but underwent an $8 million transformation into a multi-purpose entertainment venue last fall by PHH Entertainment Ventures, which owns and operates the venue.

Highlights of the building include vibrantly colored columns, sculptures, furnishings and murals, many of which are authentic reproductions of Meso-American artifacts, plus a massive chandelier in the lobby.

Aztec Theatre opened its doors in February.

Upcoming acts on the books include The Yardbirds, Kansas, and Tab Benoit, among others.
