Gregg Allman & More at KCRW’s ‘Country In The City’

The Annenberg Space for Photography’s latest exhibit in Century City, Calif. – “Country: Portraits of an American Sound” – has inspired a summer concert series featuring Gregg Allman, Shelby Lynne and Wynonna. The best part is that the all-ages events are free!

The “Country In The City” series is presented by the Annenberg Foundation, which is celebrating 25 years of funding and supporting non-profit organizations, including investing in public spaces and the arts.

The performances will be held in Century Park, adjacent to the Annenberg Space For Photography.

Allman kicks off the series July 19, with Sturgill Simpson opening the show.

Jamestown Revival opens the July 26 event, which will be headlined by Lynne. The singer/songwriter will be accompanied by a full band.

The series wraps up Aug. 2 with Wynonna & The Big Noise, along with opener Nikki Lane.

Plan on making a full night of it because the Annenberg Space will stay open until 10 p.m. showcasing the pioneers, poets and icons of country music.

Plus, there will be a beer garden for the 21+ crowd. Refreshments will be available for purchase from a variety of cafes and food trucks.

The concerts are presented in association with KCRW, NPR’s flagship station for Southern California and Los Angeles. Although admission is free, you’ll need to register in advance at KCRW.com. Registered guests will receive wristbands upon arrival to get into the concerts.
