Singapore’s First
LAMC Productions declared the first Singapore Rock Festival March 5-6 at Fort Canning Park a “smashing success.”

Better late than never. Considering the Southeast Asian city-state has never hosted a full-fledged rock festival, the results do seem impressive.
Over two days, the event presented Korn, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Black Veil Brides, Alter Bridge and Alice in Chains.
Altogether 11,500 people showed up, and sponsors included Spy Eyewear, Jagermeister, Monster Energy and MTV.
LAMC co-owner Ross Knudson said, “Despite there being a variety of music festivals for fans around the globe, there wasn’t one for our Singaporean audience. This is why we created the Singapore Rock Festival – because we felt that fans here needed a festival they could call their own.”
LAMC has since said it plans to stage another festival next year.
