That noise you’ve been hearing all morning is the crying of thousands of Petty fans upon learning that their favorite band will not be playing their cities as expected.  Gone from the itinerary are shows originally scheduled for Sept. 30 in Kansas City, Mo., and Oct. 1 in Lincoln, Neb.  Refunds are available at points of purchase.

Instead, Petty and his Heartbreaker crew will play two shows at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre Sept. 30 & Oct. 1.  Petty has also added a stop north of Detroit at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich., Aug. 24.  All three additions include special guest Steve Winwood.

Members of the Highway Companions Club living in or near Kansas City and Lincoln are eligible to win tickets to shows in Nashville Sept. 23 and Tulsa Sept. 28 as well as the concerts at Red Rocks.

While onsales for many shows start June 7, the new additions are going go up for grabs a little later.  The Highway Companion Club presale for DTE begins June 9 and the general onsale launches June 13.  Highway Companion’s presale for Red Rocks launches June 16 and general onsales start June 20.  Check out TomPetty.com for more information.
