Industry Noize: HoB Inks Philly

House of Blues Entertainment has inked a long-term booking deal for District N9NE, a 600- to 1,400-capacity venue in Philadelphia, marking the latest in an expansion of the Live Nation-owned club division.

District N9NE, formerly the Starlight Ballroom, has recently been renovated and redesigned, including lighting upgrades, new sound equipment, improved customer amenities and new décor.

TicketWeb will be the exclusive ticketer for the venue.

“When the opportunity arose to District N9NE, it was a no-brainer to team up with the greatest company,” District N9NE owner Richard Lam said.

“With their partnership, we can fulfill an array of musical needs for the people of Philadelphia.” HoBE senior VP Sean Striegel added, “We are all very excited about this and envision the positives that this will bring to the musical community of Philadelphia.”

The addition marks HoB’s third recent booking agreement, following those announced with Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wis., and Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, Texas.
