AMSGE Acquires Levity Stake

Azoff MSG Entertainment has acquired a 50 percent stake in Levity Entertainment Group, a full service entertainment company with multiple platforms of live venues and booking, the company announced June 10.

In addition to booking services and comedy venues, LEG includes comedy and reality television content production, talent management and online digital services, giving AMSGE an added boost in its media holdings.

It represents approximately 70 artists including Jeff DunhamJenny McCarthy and Aaron McGruder.

“We are thrilled to have LEG join the AMSGE family,” AMSGE CEO Irving Azoff said of the acquisition. “[Levity CEO] Robert Hartmann, Stu Schreiberg, Norm Aladjem and Judi Brown-Marmel have built a unique ecosystem to identify talent and provide them with career and content opportunities that extend across multiple distribution platforms worldwide.”

Levity Entertainment Group was formed in a 2009 merger between Levity Management and Triage Entertainment. It is one of the largest buyers of live comedy in the U.S. and services tours, festivals, cruise lines and a network of comedy clubs.

“The partnership with AMSGE brings us a wealth of resources and relationships that will further allow us to grow our clients’ careers and our overall business,” Hartmann said. “There is only one Irving – his knowledge and experience is unprecedented. I also think he has a promising future as a stand-up.”
