The Lazys Making Waves

Shows by The Lazys at Canadian Music Week last month proved a turning point for the NSW band. Ralph James, president of The Agency Group, signed them up.

“Not often at a music conference like Canadian Music Week does a band make an impression like The Lazys did in Toronto this year,” James said.

“Before I arrived at their noon hour set, I had received a dozen tips about their 3 a.m. show – but they were even better than the hype I had received – they ended up playing three shows in under 24 hours, so I’m not sure how they got their name!”

The Lazys return to play North America in October, after a September run in Australia behind the release of their new album.

Also at the Canadian shows was Larry Wanagas of Bumstead Productions who signed a co-management deal (with Geoff Trio of NSW’s Code One) and will represent the band outside of Australia/NZ.

He declared them “the best new band that I’ve seen in years.”

Producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against The MachineRed Hot Chili PeppersNickelback) commented, “I love this band, this could bring rock back big time.”
