Filter Ups The Summer Volume
Along with booking a slew of dates stretching into August, Filter will unveil a previously unreleased track – “The Hand That’s Dealt” – July 29 via iTunes.
While Filter’s tour officially begins when the band plays the Tail Creek Mud & Music Festival in Alix, Alberta, June 28, Helmet and Local H don’t climb onboard the ticket until July 12. Meanwhile, Filter will appear at the INDYpendence Day Street Festival in Indianapolis July 4 and at the Lombard Jaycees Festival in Lombard, Ill., July 5.
As Filter prepares for its summer adventure, the band’s Richard Patrick has a few words of wisdom.
“Somehow what used to be heavy, punk, mean music called ‘alternative’ became a rerun of ‘Hee-Haw.’ Filter, Helmet and Local H will help you get your insanity back,” Patrick said. “Come and get a proper dose of our thick and rich guitar sounds, not a banjo. WORD!”
