Alkaline Trio Announces Album Residency Shows

Alkaline Trio is taking all eight of its albums on the road for a brief run of residency shows in three cities. Over four nights fans will get to hear every single song from the punk rock band’s debut, 1998’s Goddamnit, to its most recent LP, 2013’s My Shame Is True.

The act will also be playing every tune from 2000’s Maybe I’ll Catch Fire, 2001’s From Here To Infirmary, 2003’s Good Mourning, 2005’s Crimson, 2008’s Agony & Irony and 2010’s This Addiction.

The residencies are spread out across the States with stops on the West Coast and East Coast as well as a run of dates in the band’s home state of Illinois. The fun begins Oct. 9-12 in West Hollywood, Calif., at the Troubadour, followed by Oct. 16-19 in Chicago at Metro/Smart Bar. The tour concludes in Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Music Hall of Williamsburg Oct. 21-24.

“These shows couldn’t be more exciting for us,” vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba said. “It’s a true benchmark in our long standing career and we have our beautiful fans to thank for all of it. We can’t wait to share these special evenings with the people that have gotten us where we are today.”

Although Alkaline Trio promises to perform all eight albums over the course of four nights in each city, the group hasn’t revealed which LPs will be paired together except to say that it won’t be in chronological order. If you attend the shows, you’re in for a surprise because the pairings won’t be announced before the shows.

A presale began today. The general onsale begins Thursday, June 19 at 12 p.m. local time.
