New Video, Album & Fall Dates From OK Go

On Monday Los Angeles’ Museum Of Contemporary Art hosted the premiere of OK Go’s first video in over two years. Now it’s your turn to check out “The Writing’s On The Wall,” hailing from the band’s upcoming fourth studio album.

Hungry Ghosts is due out Oct. 14, marking the alternative rock band’s first LP in four years. As a preview, today OK Go released the EP Upside Out, featuring four original tunes from the Hungry Ghosts sessions.

The video for “The Writing’s On The Wall” is the first made with yet-to-be-released Panasonic LUMIX GH4, which uses 4K video recording technology. Directed by Aaron Duffy, OK Go’s Damian Kulash and Bob Partington, the vid features anamorphic illusions inspired by artists Felice Varini, Georges Rousse and Dan Tobin-Smith. The single-shot video is the result of two months of preparations and 61 run-throughs.

You can chat with OK Go’s Kulash and Partington about the video when the co-directors take part in Reddit’s Ask Me Anything forum on Thursday, June 19 at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

And don’t forget to tune in to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” July 22 to see OK Go perform.
