The husband and wife team of Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst, who categorize their genre as “sloppy tonk music,” can’t wait to show off their upcoming album. Last night’s Facebook post says, “The engines are getting warm, the gears are starting to turn, and we are chompin’ at the bit to get Swimmin’ Time in everyone’s hands Aug 26th.”

The LP is the follow-up to 2012’s O’ Be Joyful. Check out the first track of Swimmin’ Time, “The Devil Is All Around,” below.

In the next few months leading up to the release of the LP, Shovels & Rope will make appearances at several festivals including Ottawa’s RBC Bluesfest, Winnipeg Folk Festival and Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. The duo has also lined up some dates with Old Crow Medicine Show, as well as a show with The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo.
