Scooter Braun To Help Launch Aussie Band

Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun will help launch Australian band Sheppard into the U.S. market.

The act is managed by Sydney promoter Michael Chugg of Chugg Management and London agent Steve Strange of Strange World Management.

Braun approached the pair after hearing the band’s current Australian single “Geronimo.” It went to No. 1 in their home country and was certified triple platinum.

Braun is convinced the track could repeat that success globally when it is issued July 11.

He posted on Instagram, “Sometimes you hear a song and on 1st listen you know it’s a smash No. 1 record. This is one of those things. So good #tune.”

Braun’s artist roster includes Australian pop singer Cody Simpson.

The six-piece Sheppard is anchored by siblings George, Emma and Amy Sheppard. They topped the Aussie charts with debut single “Let Me Down Easy.” In March the band signed worldwide to Decca Records, a Universal Music Group imprint, outside Australia where its material is released by its own Empire of Song label, through Chugg Music/MGM.

Sheppard geared up for the July 11 Australian release of debut album Bomb’s Away by supporting Keith Urban’s on his Light The Fuse tour to a total of 70,000 people, appearing at the June 23 APRA song awards in Brisbane, and doing four shows July 25 to Aug. 1.
